1.Exceeding or surpassing in degree or excellence. 2.Theology (of God) having existence outside the created world.
Immanence
1.Existing, operating, or remaining within; inherent.
2.Theology (of God) present throughout the Universe.
It is clear that definition 2 in both cases is derived from definition 1.
(In the context of Kant's theory of knowledge immanence means to remain in the boundaries of possible experience.)
